Halifax Academy Class of 2025 Senior Spotlight:

Jacob Taylor Crawford is a member of the National Senior Beta Club and the Monogram Club. During his time at Halifax Academy, he participated in varsity football, basketball, and baseball.

Outside of school, Jacob has worked at Davis Body Shop during the summer for the past four years. In his spare time, he enjoys watching football and basketball, as well as working out at the gym daily.

Jacob is the son of Amy and Nathaniel Crawford from Roanoke Rapids. He has one younger sister, Madison. Jacob plans to attend East Carolina University and earn a degree in business administration with a focus on accounting.

William Raymond Hudomint is a member of the National Senior Beta Club, the Monogram Club, and the Quiz Bowl Team. He has also been involved in our Student Government Association, most recently serving as student body treasurer.
 
William played on the varsity football, basketball, and baseball teams at HA. He also participated on the swim team during his senior year, receiving All-Conference Awards and being named a Division 3 State Runner-Up Relay member.
 
Outside of school, William has worked for Mark Fell in various roles, including pool maintenance, lawn care, construction, and hardscaping, since he was 13 years old. In William’s spare time, he enjoys weight lifting, fishing, and spending time with friends.
 
William is the son of Ann and Eric Hudomint from Roanoke Rapids. He has one older sister, Morgan. William plans to attend the Electrical Line Construction Technology Program at Nash Community College.

Avery Grant Boone is a National Senior Beta Club member. He also served as a junior marshal last year. Avery has been a member of the Monogram Club and Student Government Association during his time at HA. Last school year, he served as the SGA junior class representative.
 
During Avery’s time at HA, he was on the varsity cross country and basketball teams. Avery has received All-Conference Awards in cross country for three seasons and All-State Recognition during his senior year. In his spare time, Avery enjoys weight lifting, running, and vacations with his family.
 
Avery is the son of Sarah Bridgers and Robert Boone from Roanoke Rapids. He has three younger siblings, Aaron, Anna, and Sam. Avery plans to attend North Carolina State University in the fall and major in Computer Science in the College of Engineering.

Halifax Academy Class of 2025 Senior Spotlight:

Miranda Christine Braswell is a National Senior Beta Club, Monogram Club, Octagon Club, and Quiz Bowl Team member. She has been active in our Student Government Association and currently serves as SGA color guard captain. Miranda has also been on our journalism staff, creating the school’s yearbook. During her time at HA, she participated in varsity cheer and softball. She was on the Shooting Team as well. Miranda was recently crowned prom queen.

Outside of school, Miranda dances with the Myrick School of Dance and particularly enjoys hip hop. She has been a dance instructor for the Myrick School of Dance for three years. Miranda also has participated in competitive cheer with Roanoke Valley Cheer in grades 8-10. Additionally, she worked as a pharmacy technician for Drugco. She was a little sister and participated in the Distinguished Young Women’s organization. Miranda played softball with the Roanoke Valley Girls Softball League since she was four.

In Miranda’s spare time, she loves being involved in a variety of activities and helping others when she can. She attends Shiloh Methodist Church of Gaston, where she is involved in the Conference Youth Ministry and the Conference Council of Youth Ministries. She has been a representative for the Heritage District, planning and assisting staff with conference youth events. Miranda has especially enjoyed her volunteer work with Dylan Moore Days Celebration and Safe Kids Halifax County over the years.

Miranda plans to attend Appalachian State University in the fall and major in Exercise Science. Her goal is to obtain her doctorate in physical therapy. Miranda is the daughter of Michelle and Michael Braswell from Roanoke Rapids. She has one younger sister, Mariah.

George “Haden” Pendleton is a member of the National Senior Beta Club. He has worked for the family business, GEP IV Farms, all his life. In Haden’s spare time, he enjoys hunting and fishing.
 
Haden is the son of Mandy and Eddie Pendleton from Scotland Neck. He has one younger brother, Cooper. Haden plans to attend Edgecombe Community College in the fall and major in Agribusiness Technology.
