Jaxson “Jax” Waters is a member of the Monogram and Octagon Clubs. He ran cross country in grades 9-12. Outside of school, Jax enjoys participating in water sports and playing golf, guitar, and video games.
 
Jax plans to attend East Carolina University in the fall and pursue a degree in Computer Science. He is the son of Lisa and Jonathan Waters from Littleton. Jax has one older sister, Taylor.
Elizabeth Williams is a member of the National Senior Beta, Octagon, and Monogram Clubs. She also serves as senior class vice president and color guard team member for our Student Government Association. Elizabeth played volleyball throughout her time at HA.
 
In Elizabeth’s spare time, she enjoys spending time with family and friends, watching movies, and taking long drives. She is a member of Calvary Baptist Church.
 
Elizabeth plans to attend Meredith College in the fall and pursue a degree in biology. She is the daughter of Deana and Heath Williams from Pendleton. She has one older brother, Heath, who graduated from Halifax Academy.
Ashlyn Cooke recently earned the distinction of salutatorian for the HA Class of 2023. She is a member of the National Senior Beta, Octagon, and Monogram Clubs and serves as Octagon Club’s vice president. She is also a member of our Student Government Association and serves as the student body vice president. Ashlyn has played volleyball and softball throughout her time at HA. In softball, she has been named Conference Player of the Year as well as All-Conference and All-State Recognitions.
 
In Ashlyn’s spare time, she has been committed to playing travel softball for twelve years and has received multiple tournament awards. She worked at Creekside Animal Hospital this past summer and plans to work there again this summer. Ashlyn also has volunteered for the hospital, Meals on Wheels Program, and the local nursing home.
 
Ashlyn will attend Pitt Community College in the fall and has signed to play softball. She plans to study sonography. Ashlyn is the daughter of Heather and Jason Cooke from Halifax. Her older brother, Bryce, graduated from HA in 2020.

Jack Quinn is a member of the National Senior Beta and Monogram Clubs. He played football during his time at HA. Jack also is a member of HA’s shooting team. He enjoys hunting, fishing, and spending time on the lake with friends in his spare time. Jack is a member of the Davie Volunteer Fire Department. He has worked for the Roanoke Rapids Theatre for the past three years. Jack also worked for Lake Gaston Jet Ski, Powersports, and Marine this past summer.

Jack plans to attend Wake Technical Community College in the fall and study Facility Maintenance Technology. Jack lives in Roanoke Rapids. He is the son of Lisa and Billy Allen and Bryan Quinn.

Gaston Surry is a member of the National Senior Beta Club. He also is president of the Monogram Club. He played football and baseball for HA. In Gaston’s spare time, he enjoys hunting, playing golf, snowboarding, and spending time with friends. He worked for American Boathouse Company and is currently employed by MacBride Excavation. Gaston has volunteered for holiday food drives and served as a helper for Pleasant Hill Christian Church’s Vacation Bible School.
 
Gaston plans to attend Virginia Tech in the fall and major in Building Construction. He is the son of Lori and Paul Surry of Valentines, Virginia. Gaston has two older sisters, Madison and Marlee.
