2021-2022 Current COVID Information

Last night, the Halifax Academy Board of Trustees approved a plan to open school in-person for the 2021-2022 school year.  After much discussion, the BOT approved the plan which strongly encourages all students and staff to wear a mask whenever physical distancing cannot be ensured or is not possible. If families choose for their child to wear a mask at school the family is responsible for providing the mask each day. I encourage all of you to read the entire plan for opening school safely.  Please hover over the About tab above, then click on Covid Information.

In the discussion, the BOT continues to be aware that we are currently in the middle of a surge in North Carolina and our local community. The BOT will continue to monitor the spread of the virus in our local community and make changes as needed in the pursuit of keeping our students and staff safely at school.

You will also find The HA Health and Safety Agreement as well as the HA COVID Waiver of Liability under the About tab.  Each parent/guardian should sign these documents and send them with your child on the first day of school.  Both of these documents are required for the 2021-2022 school year.

In closing, the BOT was very complementary of our HA families for their cooperation and dedication to following our plan last school year which allowed us to stay safely open for our students all year.  If we all work together, I am confident we will have another safe and productive school year at Halifax Academy.
