Last night, the Halifax Academy BOT approved a plan that allows school to open as scheduled on August 25th for full-time, in person instruction with restrictions in place to maintain safety. Although life on campus will look a little different, we are very excited to have the opportunity to have all of our students back on campus for the 20-21 school year. Students benefit greatly from face-to-face instruction as well as having the opportunity to build relationships and experiences with each other and their teachers.
We realize that each family has their own unique set of circumstances and some may not be comfortable sending their child back to school in person at this time. To meet the needs of these families, they may choose for their child to begin the year at home utilizing a remote instruction delivery similar to what they received during the spring of 2020. More details about each of these options are included in our plan for reopening that is attached to this e-mail. Please carefully read the details in the attachment, and if you have further questions, feel free to contact me by e-mail or telephone. As questions develop, I will post responses to frequently asked questions on our website under the new HA Blog. An intent form will also be distributed in the near future so each family can let us know which option they choose at this time.
Thank you for your patience and understanding as we strive to maintain a balance between the safety of our students and staff while bringing student back on campus to grow and learn in a nurturing environment.
